Revenue Puzzle - How it all started!

Am I brave or mad or crazy or have courage in the current climate? Well the Irish Hotels started to reopen without me at the time and I want to change that.


As I was made redundant a few weeks ago, I was upset, broken and couldn’t believe it. I survived a few recessions but COVID was stronger. The hotels in Ireland started to reopen but without me.

As I said back then I wouldn’t allow being unemployed become the new norm after 26 years in the work force. I had an amazing few months spending time with my kids and husband – I realised that we were in a daily mill and I needed to get to know them again. I am now looking to combine work with my family needs.

After sending hundreds of applications which were not hospitality related, I think I took it as a sign to stick with what I know best and love, the hospitality industry. There is a reason that at the age of seven I walked into one of the few 5 start hotels in East Germany saying to my mother that I wanted to work there but there we a slim chance back then. However, I am grateful having spent the last 26 years in this rewarding industry and I now want to share my experience. After talking to a few people and thanks to their encouragement Revenue Puzzle was born.

Am I brave or mad or crazy or have courage in the current climate? Well there will be a road to recovery in whatever shape or form and I love helping hotels to achieve to reach their best possible potential.

Why revenue puzzle? Well I always see revenue management like a puzzle – all pieces have to fit together to give the overall big picture. You cannot make a solution work if not all puzzle pieces join together.

The primary aim of Revenue Management is selling the right product to the right customer at the right time for the right price.
